Modification: Original alligator strap has been replaced. This sale will include an Omega bracelet and an Omega rubber strap. I consider these to be “accessories” and “desirable upgrades” for this dive watch. But they are not original to this particular reference number. See photos and additional description below.
Year of... Manufacture: Approx. 2006-2007 (serial number 80, XXX, XXX).
Condition: This watch is in very good preowned condition. Case, bezel, crystal, and dial show no obvious signs of wear. Very minor scratches do exist. Please view all photos (they show actual watch and accessories offered in this eBay listing). Markings: Dial, crown, case back, and movement are all signed.
Bracelet/Straps: This sale includes 2 premium Omega “bands”. The bracelet is an Omega 1589/858 for newer-generation 42mm Planet Ocean models. It is stainless steel with satin finish (except for highly-polished sides). Hefty! Removable links are joined with screw-in pins instead of pressed pins. Extra links provided. Deployant clasp is fold-over type, with push-button release and diver’s extension. The rubber strap is marked Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 98000144, is black in color, and includes a signed tang buckle. Bracelet and rubber strap options shown in photos. Use whichever matches your style or suits the occasion! Case Size: 42 mm diameter (without crown). Outer bezel diameter approx. 40 mm. Case body flares on one side to protect crown. Approx. 48 mm tip-to-tip. 20 mm between lugs. It’s a great size for most wrists.
Case Metal: Stainless steel. Solid screw-down case back, with beautiful sea horse relief sculpture (see photo). Rated for 600 m/2000 ft water resistance (but not recently tested).
Movement: The Omega caliber 2500C is an automatic (self-winding) movement with co-axial escapement. 48 hour power reserve. Quick-set date & hacking seconds. Full Omega service in 2016 (copy of receipt provided to buyer). Keeping excellent time. UPDATE - I just added time grapher data as last photo.
Dial: Matte black dial with applied hour markers and logo are very upscale. “Broad arrow” minute and hour hands. Good lume. Dial protected by sapphire crystal.
Functions: Time, date, and rotating timing bezel.
Box and Papers: Sale includes inner & outer boxes, Pictogram cards, and manual, as shown in photos.
Story: I am a watch enthusiast and collector. This model will appeal to a diver, boater, swimmer, “Quantum of Solace” fan, or anyone who desires a “diver aesthetic”. The somewhat conservative size and style of this watch make it highly versatile: wear it to the beach, or with a sport coat! This particular example offers excellent value due to its outstanding condition, upgraded bracelet, rubber strap option, and included box & papers. I am reluctantly selling to down-size my collection.
