Description and Condition: My photos of this covered dish do not show its true richness and excellence. The well done stapled repair of at least a century ago does not detract from the viewer wanting to hold this piece. Indeed, this piece is a curiosity of sorts as the bottom bears the small crescent mark used by Bow and the lid has Bow's small circle with arrow mark, both marks in blue under the glaze. Yet the pattern is the very fine Royal pattern produced by Spode!!! So a real... puzzlement!
This dish measures 7.75 inches to the edge of the flared rim. The dish is 5.75 inches diameter and 2 inches deep. The lid is 6 inches diameter and 0.5 inches high. It fits perfectly in the lip of the dish.
Condition is as shown with staples firmly attached. Note that the finial knob is stapled to inside of lid. Pattern transfer is very sharp, with rich blue color and complete!
Payment, Returns and Shipping Policies: Please pay by paypal. Absolutely no e-checks will be accepted!!
I will accept a return as per ebay's 14-day return policy. However, buyer's remorse or bid by mistake will not be accepted as a valid reason for a return. Buyer pays for return shipping and insurance and upon receipt in the same condition as sent I will refund in the amount of the winning bid.

Final Comment: The staple repairs aside, this is a very attractive lidded dish! The way it is marked adds to its interest for collection. It will make a fine addition to any collection of 18th and 19th Century British pottery and porcelain. Please check out my other items of antique glass, pottery, and porcelain. Also see my specimen woods tea table, William IV period, by Scottish maker and retailer James Mein. What's more there are many fine auction catalogs and books.
