This extraordinary Vintage Brigitte Deval Doll is a one- of -a- Kind signed Wax over Porcelain. She sits on a charming little wooden chair that will come with her.She stars 24" Tall but when sitting , much less. She was made in Tuscany Italy where the talented and re-knowned German-born sculptress now lives. She was made in 1986,... and I purchased her at that time directly from Deval who became a personal friend. Each is a a unique bespoke one- of -a kind in gorgeous handmade clothing in Italian silk to the finest glass blown eyes of extraordinary color created just for Brigitte . Her braided hair is a human hair wig with soft wispy tendrils perfectly framing a face that is unforgettable, as Brigitte Devals faces are like NO OTHER in the world. She is considered the Botticelli of doll-making and her work is well-represented in Museums around the World as well as in the collections of many celebrities, from Barbara Streisand, Demi Moore, Michael Jackson, and Oprah Winfrey to name a few. Each a mini-masterpiece of mood and expression that belies her background as a sculptress. Her dewy ethereal complexion is reminiscent of the works of the Old Masters like Botticelli.
