Antique Victorian 9 ct S Africa Boer War Wagon Hill Shrapnel Memento Charm Fob
This is an unusual charm or fob made of shrapnel, presumably from the Battle of Wagon Hill. It is set with a 9 carat gold plate engraved "Wagon Hill, " in memory of the battle fought January 6, 1900. The charm is small, with a measurement of 1/4" all sides. The base of the charm bears ridges which may be machine marks from an artillery shell. For context, ...I have included an image of the bracelet the charm was attached to. A very interesting Victorian military/Boer War artifact.
