This is a wonderful and rare collectors' set of American history capitalizing on both numismatic (coin) and philatelic (stamp) collections. These 35 Morgan Silver Dollars and Peace Silver Dollars are represented along with key historical events or figures corresponding to that particular year. It is considered a complete Morgan and Peace date set due to the fact that the 1893 and 1895 M...organ Dollar and 1921 Peace Dollar coins are exceptionally rare and prohibitively expensive for this set. Created by the U.S. Postal Commemorative Society, to complement that year's coin and key historical fact are rare stamps issued to also highlight what happened in that year.
The stamps are valuable in and of themselves because they are not only rare and vintage, they are uncirculated and in mint condition! Another interesting feature is that each stamp is postmarked from the city where the historical event occurred, so the collection features post marks from all around America.
All coins/stamps/cards are contained in cardboard protective sleeves with the date and story of the historical event of that year inserted into clear plastic display holders and housed in a top quality display 3 ring album or folio which measures 12"x 11.5" x 3.75" (the previous owner's name was embossed on the front but has been redacted and does not affect wear or appearance).
This exceptional collection appeals to coin collectors, stamp collectors and history buffs all at the same time!
**These features make this particular set of exceptional value for the discriminating collector.
You will receive the following coins ranging in grade from average circulated to Brilliant Uncirculated (many of these sets are filled with low grade 'fillers' -- none of these coins are lower grade!!) which includes several low mintage, rare mint marks [and the majority have mint marks], semi-key, and very high grade coins:
