A beautiful piece! ‘Marked Days’ Patent beneath the Royal Crest to each of the 7 panels that make up a pierced tubular cylinder with castellated top and Gothic Arched windows rather like a cathedral.Looks to be a brass given a bronze plating? I looked online and found a range of items marked Days Patent- many very similar and all relating to chimney ornaments and ladies fire screens and make up screens etc. This however seems to be a candle holder or night light. Using a tea-light... inside this would indeed be a very beautiful effect through the gothic windows.Just a little loss to the delicate metal trim of the upper rim however barely noticed and as you see essentially very good vintage condition.
