S256. J.W. Benson (Tavannes) 15J. 1937This is a marriage, probably done very recently, the serial number dates the movement to 1937/8 but the case is hallmarked 1926, as both case and movement are in very good condition this represents a very good value, if not completely authentic, watch.
Made by the Tavannes Watch Co. of Switzerland for Benson, it is crown wound and set, with a split plate 15 Jewel movement which has a Swiss Lever escapement and an over-sprung screwed balance with... double roller.
Fully serviced with a new mainspring it is in good working order,
The double backed silver case was hallmarked in Birmingham and has the maker’s mark of AL Dennison and date marks for 1926. Ultrasonically cleaned with a new crystal.
