Offered is anoverall excellent condition, just serviced in July 30, 2020, gorgeous 1885 Elgin, 15 Jewel, 18s, Model 3, G.M. Wheeler Pocket Watch in Hunting Case configuration. It has a lever setting. The balance wheel moves along nicely and smoothly! 54 mm case. It ismounted in a nice solid Keystone Watch Case Company flip case with normalwear consistent with age which was only cleaned by hand to leave the nice agedpatina and surfa...ce character. Amazingly, little wear was found onthe parts. In fact, the parts look like they were made yesterday! Thesewatches were made in the U.S. by hand by skilled craftsmen during a sadlyvery long gone era and are truly works of art! The movement was completely disassembled, allparts inspected which are excellent, cleaned, oiled, reassembled, and tested. However, pleasekeep in mind that these watches are well over 100 years old and should behandled with care. They are definitely not shock proof! Also, a change of location mayrequire a slight adjustment of the regulator. But, this is all just part of owning a mechanical watch. Be very careful not to disturb the balance wheel during adjustment of the regulator. There is a certain nostalgia associated with owning or carrying a vintage pocket watch that requires adjusting more frequent adjusting of time. It is not a quartz watch that runs on a battery.
