Circa: 1918.THANK YOU for considering our sparkling bright and clean, solid running extra collectible condition Hamilton Grade 978, 16 size, open face, 17 jewels, Model 2, Grade 974, adjusted to heat, cold, isochronism and 3 positions, double roller, Breguet hairspring, cupped gold jewel settings, gold balance screws, ¾ nickel plate, stem wind, lever set trolley-grade and dress movement. This outstanding Hamilton 978 movement is in excellent working order, with... a dead flat and true balance wheel motion that has a fine, wide arc and strong, steady beat. The movement is a smooth wind, starts right up with one light twist, and lever sets as designed. The movement holds excellent time but is just in and has not been further regulated or adjusted. As for appearance this 978 is looking terrific, with shiny bright and clean, 100% tarnish-free engraved winding wheels, sparkling bright nickel plates, spotless smallest "Reed" regulator needle and whip, super clean and well-maintained looking down inside, around the sides and up front, and ripping and running strong and true!! The movement does show very slight and ordinary wear only with no abuse. It will be a great acquisition for the lucky top bidder!
