Original Description:
1961 Mango (possible trade)   Only trade I am interested in is a nice fully operational Westy. If you have one and want to trade send me a message..... I am selling my 1961 Mango VW Bus. These split windows are going crazy in price. This is original paint except for where the new metal was installed and had to be blended. I have had allot of work done to this bus over the time that I have owned it. This is a list of all the new parts and metal that has been done to over the p...ast year. All parts listed were new upon installation: master cylinder, all new brake lines, brake pads, wheel cylinders, tires, all 4 shocks, tie rods right and left, drag link, completely rebuilt from top to bottom dual port engine, exhaust, the trans axle has been rebuilt with all new gears. The new klassic fab metal that I had a garage install consists of: battery floor left and right side, left and right side engine compartment metal, engine door hinge carrier, passenger side rear lower corner, right and left side wheel arch area, long side rocker panel, short side rocker, all new cargo floor, all new front floor, right and left side lower dog legs, rear wheel well lower section, right and left lower A post ad B post, lower bulk head section replaced, front frame cross brace, all outriggers and jack posts (wolfsburg west), outside sections of cross members (wolfsburg west), both cargo doors inner replacement metal and a new gas tank. I also had the shop convert it to 12 volt. They did not get the wipers working after switched to 12 volt. It has front flipped spindles and rear adjustable spring plates. I believe it is a 2 or 2 1/2 drop. This bus still needs some metal work done as you can see. The roof needs to be done due to rust but the drip edge is good. They now sell complete roofs but I was just going to drive it as is. There are still other spots that need to be patched or replaced to be perfect like the inside bottom of the front doors for example. I also want to make you aware that the shop that did the metal work (welding) did the best that they could. With that being said the welds need to cleaned up and touched up to look good. There are also no interior panels except the bulk head panel. My bus has the original hump back seat, rear seat and the elusive full middle seat and the original cargo rubber floor mat. I did have the entire under side sand blasted, primed and painted as well. It is fully registered, insured and on the road right now and I am driving it. That is really all I can think of but if you have any questions just email me. Miles on the new motor is around 200 miles. I will assist in helping your shipper load the bus if it is getting shipped. This item is listed locally so I reserve the right to end early.
