1974 International Harvester Scout
Item History & Price
International Harvester Scout II: This is kind of a rat rod, recommend you not buy it if you want body parts. The previous owner cut and welded and bondo-ed the outer panels. He welded in some crazy strong reinforcements for the front body mounts. But when you look at it from the inside you can see rust holes here and there. The lift is ridiculously awesome. He welded extensions to the spring hangers in the front and did a spring over axle conversion... in the rear. The motor, transmission, transfer case, and axles are all running strong...even though they all leak a little (except the font differential, that does not leak). I've replaced the clutch, clutch-plate, throw-out bearing, brake linings on the front, a rebuilt carb from The Scout Connection, Carter rotary vane in-line electric fuel pump, replaced the points with a Pertronix Ignitor, new rag gear in the steering, and LED lights in the headlights, front marker/signal lights, and brake/tail lights. There is no top. Look at the images carefully, there is a large gaping hole on the right side of the top inside of the bed. It does have the proper IH Lock-o-Matic hubs. It has an aftermarket speedometer, so I don't know the mileage. All of the pollution controls are missing, it will not pass smog testing. The right side window crank doesn't work, but the window will stay in place if you move it by hand. It has a barely perceptible lean to the left, when viewed from the rear.
