1979 Hydroplane Boat Fiberglass 3 Point Hydroplane Boat
Item History & Price
Built in the late 70s to early 80s but never in the water, titled or registered. It has been in a barn for many decades. It measures 9‘9“ long overall and 4‘9“ at the widest width. The front cockpit is 32 inches wide possibly wide enough for two people. The weight is slightly less than 180 pounds. Two people can carry it around pretty easily. The transom height (15 inches) is for a short shaft motor. Nice clean project that doesn’t need res...toration. This is basically a brand new boat that has been in barn storage for more than four decades. It has a few small marks from being moved around. I just cleaned it up some and it looks awesome in person. Just add a steering wheel and outboard motor with controls. I guess you don’t even have to do that; just use a tiller handle. Definitely a head turner for sure. Look around, I think that you will find that these are pretty rare and that this is a great opportunity. Most small hydroplanes were built out of wood. I have larger boats but find it much more convenient if you want to go for a quick ride with something like this. Sometimes bigger boats are a hassle towing and launching. This is more like a personal watercraft for one or two people. I like the maintenance free experience of fiberglass versus wood which can leak over time. This sale is for the boat only with no trailer. Pick up in Factoryville Pennsylvania. The transaction through eBay can be the bill of sale but it will be up to you to get it registered in your state. I have made boats in the past out of wood and registered them as homemade. Thank you for looking.
