JOHN LOTTON ART GLASS VASE/BOWL 8 " Wide 8 " Tall 13, Lbs.
Item History & Price
This is a John Lotton hand blown piece of art glass signed and dated 1991. I have an email from Kim at david lotton glass dated 9/30/2014 which gives provenance to this piece. I couldn't make out the signature so I sent pictures and info to Kim and she sent me an email stating that it was John's piece not David's. I will include the original email with the piece.
I am quoting from the ema...il, "He is the youngest son of Charles Lotton. He had to retire from
blowing glass due to severe back problems. Any of John's pieces are highly valuable and
collectible."
This piece measures 8" tall by 8" across and is 1" thick at the rim. If you look at the pictures of the piece on it's side you will notice it is translucent from the middle down. From upright you can see it has layers with different designs over one another which gives it great depth. I have even shown the close-up of the flowers on the outside layer so you can see how well they are blown. John was an exception glass blower producing some of the heaviest and thickest pieces which still had a delicacy about them.
