For your consideration, a fine platter made at Staffordshire prior to 1885 by J. F. Wileman, then operating at the Foley pottery works at Fenton in Stafforshire. The pattern is "Albert". In brown transfers on a pure white ground, a classic Art Nouveau pattern of the late 19th c. featuring beautifully rendered flowers and foliage, and in the corner, a swath of a lattice work window grill, in the style of Asian ceramics which were so inspirational to the English potters at the time. ...; The form is rectangular, square and squat, with squared handles, geometric and simple, and the decoration too, is spare and less cluttered, all coming together to make a lovely presentation. Measures 16.5" by 11.75". It is in excellent condition, a really fine piece. Thanks for looking. I hope you can check out my other items!
