$20 Series 1929 National Banknote From Florence, Colorado (Charter 5381)
Item History & Price
Reference Number: Avaluer:35784491 | Circulated/Uncirculated: Circulated |
For sale here is a $20 Type 1 Series 1929 National Banknote issued by the First National Bank of Florence, Colorado (Charter 5381). It is in circulated condition with no stains, tears or writing. Any National Banknote from Colorado which is not from Denver is a rarity since most of the banks in Colorado's small towns did not circulate widely and also had a small capitalization. This bank received its national charter in 1900 (the only bank in Florence to do so) and had just $31, ...000 of National Banknotes in circulation by 1935. Not many have survived and too few to meet the demands of the collectors of the National currency of this popular state. Today Florence may be best known as the location of the only Federal Supermax prison (known as ADX Florence) in the United States. This would be a fine addition to a collection of prison towns, or Colorado state National Banknotes. This rare Colorado National Banknote is for sale without reserve.
