N– A Block Fr. 1608 MULE Silver Certificates were originally introduced in 1878 and involved denominations from $1 to $1, 000 on large size paper money. Small (modern) size silver certificates were continued in 1928, when the United States underwent a major redesign change in significantly reducing the size of her paper money. Silver certificates—on small size notes—were issued only in denominations of $1, $5, and $10.
