This is a bronze dragon guardian mask from Indonesia dating to the mid 1950's. It is highly guided in 24 k gold. It came from the local estate of a well traveled couple who had lived in Japan, Hong Kong, and China just after WW2. The dating on this mask could be much earlier as there are areas of wear in the gilding where the bronze shows through. It stands erect with two side legs which hold it very sturdy in upright position. It is made of a t...hick bronze and measures 10" across by 10 3/4" tall (25 x 27 cm) Having been displayed lovingly for nearly a century, with exception of a slight patina it is in very fine condition.
