I was given this patch in 1977 by a stuntman by the name of J. David Jones. He was out in the Mojave desert doing helicopter gags for a Peter Hyams picture called "Capricorn One" with Elliot Gould, James Brolin and Hal Holbrook. His work was featured in over 400 movies including "Apocalypse Now" and "Speed". Turned out to be a decent movie and watching the production was certainly the biggest thing happening that fall in California City.
I was a 16 year old kid with ...a Schwinn Stingray, hanging out at the airport and thought I had won an Oscar when he gave it to me. I immediately had my mom sew it onto my denim jacket and immediately became the coolest guy on the planet (in my mind).
43 years later, the bike and the jacket are long gone but the patch has been sitting in a drawer for too long.
This item is in good used condition (see photos). It would make an excellent addition to any movie memorabilia collection (or have your mom sew it onto your denim jacket).
