Here is an original US theatrical lobby card (11" x 14") set for the American International Pictures release of Hammer's transsexual transgression Dr Jekyll and Sister Hyde (1971). Hammer was certainly ahead of their time in this internal battle of the sexes which sees Ralph Bates' Dr Jekyll transform into Martine Beswick's Sister Hyde in a shockingly convincing fashion. The uncanny resemblance between the two actors, who do their respective genders proud in their portrayals, makes thi...s film one of the more convincing screen adaptations of the Jekyll and Hyde motif. Predictably exploitative American International lobby card set of the time warns of an onscreen sexual transformation that is of course tame by today's standards but well done nonetheless. Some nice shots of the captivating Martine Beswick doing her Jack the Ripper routine in this gory set.
