Selling is a 7 3/8" X 9 3/4".VintageOriginal glossy photo with borders of DOLORES DEL RIO from the 1928 film, "NO OTHER WOMAN". This photowas taken only 3 years into the long 43-year career of DOLORES DEL RIO. There is not much known about this film, becausethere is no known copy of it in existence today. This makes this photo VERY RARE because it is a part of LOSTHOLLYWOOD. On the back of the photo, handwritten lightly inpencil is "Dolores Del Rio D. Del Rio No other Woman Fox...1928"DOLORES DEL RIO was a Mexican actress in Hollywoodin the 1920s and 1930s, and was one of the most important womanly figures ofthe Golden Age of Mexican cinema in the 1940s and 1950s. She was considered a mythical figure in LatinAmerica and quintessential representation of the feminine face of Mexico in theworld. She was the first Latin Americanfemale star to be recognized internationally. During the 1920s and 1930s in Hollywood, shewas considered one of the most beautiful women of her time, a sort of femaleversion of Rudolph Valentino, the "Latin lover" in the silent films.In 1934, del Río became one of the victims of the"open season" on the "reds" in Hollywood. In Hollywood she was associated with figuressuch as Diego Rivera, Frida Kahlo, Charles Chaplin and Orson Welles, who wereassociated with communism. Twenty yearslater this would have consequences on her career. In 1954, DOLORES DEL RIO wasslated to appear in the 20th Century Fox film "Broken Lance". The U.S. government denied her permission towork in the US, accusing her of being a sympathizer of international communism. Photo is in Very Good Condition with minimal handling wear, however, there is a small chip missing from the bottom right hand corner.
