Original Description:
This is a listing for a beautiful, working and highly  decorative antique patented 1876 brass bell dome and cast iron base mechanical door bell.
The over all condition of the bell is excellent. The design on the top of the bell is unique with what looks like leaves, vines and geometric arrow shapes.
The cast iron base has no noted damage and is marked with 3 different patent dates...1872, 1873 and 1876.  No maker's mark.
The diameter of the top part of the bell is 4 ...1/2 in. around and the diameter of the base is 4 3/4 in. around.
The measurement from hole to hole on the base is 5  1/2 in. across.  The height of the bell when its put together is 3 inches tall.
Total weight of the bell is 1 lb. and 11.3 oz. Appears well enuf constructed to last another 140 years.
Item will be packaged very carefully and secure.
