Early Door of Hope Chinese Lady, Bound Feet?Description: Fresh to the market estate find, this lady has a carved woodenhead and hands with delicate fingers. Her hair is painted black with brushmarks on forehead and her lips are softly tinted pink. She has a carved bunwith a painted gold colored pin in it. She is dressed in a light blue brocadetunic fastened with tiny black frogs and trimmed with black soutache braid.Underneath this is a white cotton shirt. Trousers are medium blue with... whitesilk bands at the hem. Tiny red silk shoes complete her ensemble. Her feet seemabnormally small, so may have bound feet, but I have nothing to compare them toso I’m not certain. You be the judge. Condition: Doll’s right hand has some damage; fingers look shortbecause they have been broken making hand almost look like a fist, however thumb is not damaged, nor is the left hand. Costume is faded and has overall dust/soil/stains(see pics). There are two tiny (pinhead sized) black spots on back of collarand maybe a tiny pinhole or two in tunic. Wooden head has a nice patina, having darkened a bit with age and doll's head comes off easily (not sure why). Thereare also a couple of no-harm minor scratches on head only mentioned for sake ofaccuracy (They don’t show very well in pics, but are there). Again, please seepics for condition. This doll has a lovely face with apleasant, serene expression, I have tried to accurately describecondition, but if I have missed something please don't hesitate to askquestions.
