Tripod stand is adjustable in height from 16” to 22”. Stand baseis 7“W as measured from the end of one tripod foot to the other. Stand has an“eye” on one foot by which it can be hung to a nail or screw on the wall. Standmay also sit upright on a desk or be laid on top of the desk with the lampprojecting over. Stand has no markings although an 1896 advertisement for FariesManufacturing Company, Decatur, Illinois, advertises the stand (with adifferent lamp shade however - see photo). Stand base is believed to be made ofa heavy metal though not certain if it is brass; moveable stand stem is made ofbrass. The original patina of the tripod stand has been retained and showssigns of tarnish, wear and use. This is a rare and unique tripod stand lampfrom the Industrial Revolution era.
