He has a ball jointed body, made of aluminum, steel and brass, completely poseable thanks to its finely turned metal balls and sockets with molded removable composition head, hands and shoed feet.
He can assume any type pose with his thirteen individual joints. The metal joinery is of high quality that reminds one of Swiss watches.
The figure is marked on the... torso: “Made in Switzerland Patents Applied For”.
These dolls were marketed under the name "SABA" dolls. This is an acronym for Spielwarenfabrik August Burcherer Amriswil meaning August Bucherer's Amriswil, Switzerland toy factory.
This line of figures was introduced at the Spring-Leipzig-Fair in 1922 by Bucherer-Fisher (who worked for the famous, German toy company, MARKLIN) becoming an immediate success.
CONDITION: Has not been cleaned. See photos for condition.
The doll has lost the tips of the fingers on his left hand but no other broken parts or repairs and all joints function perfectly. Please check the pics carefully.
