Up for auction is an EXTRAORDINARYILY RARE AND IMPORTANT c1795 CHINESE LADY WASHINGTON STATES CHINA ARMORIAL DISH PLATE. An amazing rare and important dish from a small service specially made for President George Washington’s wife, Lady Washington c1975-6. It is thought that less than 20 examples of this service still exist today and I have read this is the rarest and most sought after of all the Chinese American market export porcelain wares created. It is a real privilege the family has allowed us to offer this dish to our great customers here on eBay, I am sure the opportunity will likely never happen again!
I was able to find two examples from this service that sold over the past decade for some incredible amounts as shown in the images. It is important to note that the small 8-inch oblong dish Christies offered was in very ruff condition and had a large crack through the center of the dish, and as you can see it still brought some amazing interest! In my opinion if offered in the right important export sale this dish would sell at the very minimum 50 thousand and there is a change it could achieve over 100 comparing it to the other examples sold. As my online auctions have run for over 15 years now here online this extraordinary rare and important dish is being offered without reserve. Condition: Wear to enamel and gilding as seen consistent with early age. The porcelain is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and no repairs. The dish has also been closely inspected under UV light that reveals absolutely no hidden damage of any kind.
Size: The dish measures 7 3/8 inches wide.
