Up for your consideration is an Antique Early Bohemian Quarkmanl (white People) Mary Gregory Turquoise Vase in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, nicks, or loss of hand painted design circa 1870's. It does have a few bubbles and straw marks from mouth blown manufacture process. Vase has gorgeous hand painted design with tinted face on double fired enamel. Scene depicts a small boy with peach face and brown hair, dressed in white knickers and fancy shirt leanin...g against a fence between 2 trees. Later pieces had all white decoration while this one has colored face and hair. Colored or tinted faces were not done in the US only Bohemia. It is finished with ground, polished rim and polished pontil on base. Vase measures 6.25" tall X 3.75" in diameter at rim tapering slightly to 2.75" in diameter at neck before flaring to 4" in diameter at widest point.
