Antique Goodell & Co. Patent October 6, 1868 Kitchen / Butcher / Trade Knife

This is a very nice and very early Goodell & Co. kitchen / trade knife. It is stamped Goodell Co. Pat. Oct. 6 1868. There's some pitting through the logo and it is hard to see the word Goodell but it's definitely from them. Has a one-pin handle with a pewter collar. The pin also looks to be pewter? The handle is a very hard wood, possibly Cocobolo. Total length of the knife is 11"; the blade is 6.5". A very nice knife made just after the Civil War. Not only could this be used in a ...kitchen, but many knives like this were sold by traders and used out in the frontier by early settlers.
