Unique Antique Carved Chair w/ what I assume to be a Monk Face, and Melusine. My grandfather was a collector and gave this chair to me when I was a child. I’m 50 now and need to pass it on. The chair is hand carved. Appears to be pine. It has a carved face with a missing tooth. And four Melusine (mermaids). Which makes me assume the origin is France, or somewhere in Europe. If you look closely at the backside of the face, you can see the pencil lines that were followed to make the re...lief cuts. In good condition for its age. Though the exact age is undetermined. Cannot locate a signature or any marking other than the pencil marking.
