A vintage and extremely rare watch Elektronika 1 from "Pulsar" plant. It was the first wristwatch released in the USSR with a LED screen. The watch was produced in 1976-1989 period.
The watch has the date indication. After pressing the right upper button the display shows the time, lights up for about 1.5 seconds and turns off, if you continue to hold, then seconds are displayed. The lower right button is responsible for the date. On the caseback there's the inscription ..."Elektronika. Made in the USSR".
In the Soviet times the watch was the epitome of the high-tech style of the 70s and had a "space" design: a chrome-plated case, a rectangular red window, in which the LED figures light up by touching the button. The watch immediately became the embodiment of prosperity, and an unattainable dream for many people, because its cost was the same as an engineer’s salary.
The watch was tested. It is in great and working condition. The case, its backside and the glass have scratches, the buttons are scuffed.
