This entertaining fellow was the souvenir at the NIADA Conference held in Philadelphia in 1995.
Designed by AKIRA BLOUNT and made by Akira Studios and Darrin Designs, everyone was quite thrilled when he popped out of his little box.Each one was a little different, hand made and unique.All were in various designs of red, white and blue.
The d...oll's face is needle sculpture with painted features, in the classic Akira Blount style.Each one was dressed in different fabrics on his jester hat and the gathered collar around his neck.The boxes were hand painted in different patterns as well.The inside of the boxes were lined with hand painted paper, and again each one was different.The box has a little hook to hold it shut, and the jester still pops up when opened.
These were all unique creations by popular NIADA Artist Akira Blount and hand signed on the bottom of the box.
They were made in a very limited edition, just for the attendees at the conference.He will bring a smile to anyone's face!
