ANTIQUE SILVER ROLEX TRENCH WATCH WRISTWATCH, c1914 An antique, Sterling Silver ROLEX Wristwatch dating from World War I, c1914/15.
The Swiss made, ROLEX mechanical movement is in working order. it is signed "Rolex, Swiss made".
The sterling silver case is in good condition. It has full English Hallmarks; the sponsor's mark "W&D" for Wilsdorf & Davis (Hans Wilsdorf & Alfred James Davis), the ".925" sterling silver mark, the ...London town import mark and date letter "t" for 1914/15. The case also stamped "Rolex".
Wilsdorf & Davis were founders of the Rolex watch company.
The dial has the hours in Roman numerals. It is in reasonably good condition, however has damage on the edge between four & five and ten and eleven that may benefit from sympathetic restoration. These issues mostly covered by the bezel when the front cover is closed.
The leather strap is a modern replacement, not original.
The watch measures approximately 30mm in diameter.
