Germany III Reich 1934 Saar Plebiscite Complete Set VF MNH!ITEM: Background: This set was issued on August 26, 1934 to in anticipation of the referendum on the territorial status of Saar. The Saar region had been administered by France following WWI and a referendum was held on January 13, 1935 in which more than 90% of the population voted for reunification with Germany. Saarland was officially reincorporated into Germany by March 1, 1935. The 6pf stamp depicts the allegory "Saar Belo...ngs to Germany" and the 12pf stamp depicts a German eagle and swastika.Reference and Condition: This set is listed in the 2018 Michel Deutschland Spezial as #s 544-45 with a value for never-hinged of 90€ or approximately $99. These stamps are in very-fine overall condition with fine to very-fine centering and full original never-hinged gum. Otherwise attractive and free of faults. Please see my feedback and my ME page!
