This is a really stunning, Chinese hand carved bovine bone brooch set in a yellow metal mount.
The brooch depicts a number of courtiers in a garden setting beneath pagodas.
The carving is executed in very deep three dimensions, and the brooch has a lovely, light golden patina
The mount has a beautiful beaded edge, and is unmarked.
The brooch is in excellent condition.
The brooch weighs 14 g and is 47 mm x 38 mm, and is 10 mm deep.
It is presented in a stylis...h James Bell of Nottingham jewellery case.
Clearly a fine quality antique.
