This listing is for a lot of 10 vintage 1970's Brockway flower of the month glasses. February and April are missing from this set. All glasses are in near-mint condition (in my opinion) with no chips nor cracks and graphics are in excellent+ condition. The following items are listed within this lot:
January - Carnation. On back of glass it says, "Carnation Flower of January The everlasting symbol of mother love. "..whose bravery, variety and sweet...e smell." - Parkinson
March - Daffodil. On back of glass it says, "Daffodil Flower of March In the infancy of spring comes the daffodil as if to herald the coming of bright new beginnings. Daffodils remain symbolic of rebirths and awakening."
May - Lily of the Valley. On back of glass it says, "Lily of the Valley Flower of May According to the Bible Lilies sprang from the tears of Mary on her trip to Calvary and have long been the flower of Easter. Lilies symbolize soulful reminders of days gone by."
June - Rose. On back of glass it says, "Rose Flower of June Roses have long been a symbol of silent adoration and still express distinguished dedication. Over all else the rose is symbolic of true, undying love."
July - Larkspur. On back of glass it says, "Larkspur Flower of July Larkspur -- twining stems of blue clustered flowers...recalling to mind the faith and trust of true brotherhood."
August - Poppy. On back of glass it says, "Poppy Flower of August These flowers of sleepy oblivion also symbolize fond remembrance. "-- always it is a flame, and warms the wind like a flown ruby." - Ruskin
September - Morning Glory. On back of glass it says, "Morning Glory Flower of September Only with the golden rays of sun will the Morning Glory show itself as if to say all is right with the world. With each new day comes a Morning Glory."
October - Cosmos. On back of glass it says, "Cosmos Flower of October Cosmos -- the flower of universal order and simplicity. The Cosmos is yet reminiscent of sincerity and of trust."
November - Chrysanthemum. On back of glass it says, "Chrysanthemum Flower of November November's flower has become a symbol of honesty, goodwill and integrity. The golden flower of imperial Japan -- it became a sign of nobility."
December -- Narcissus. On back of glass it says, "Narcissus Flower of December As the bridge of the old year and the new the Narcissus embodies the freshness of youth and the aged beauty of maturity."
