Vintage Barbie First Pair of shoes Made for the #1 Barbie, in 1959, dressed in the Gay Parisienne, Outfit. The first stand for Barbie, In 1959, had two small rods pertruding from the base of the stand itself, hence the holes in bottom of shoe. Only made for a very short time, as the stand changed quite quickly to solid base with no rods. I once read in one of my (27) Barbie books, this mule came out with an almost purple color for the Navy. I think these are the ones I read about. No, ...cant kind article to save me. Going to be sooooo fair an put these at Auction, as they are so sought after, I want to give the Collectors, All a chance. Pictures show where there is extra plastic on outer edges of some areas. These are new, not played with. New owner may want to snip off. Not Me. lol Left shoe is marked JAPAN. I have had these in my collection for 37 yrs. I have Alot I will be posting.
