Old Metronome de Maelzel - Tight-Grained Wood.
Here is a fantastic old metronome by Maelzel. Johann Maelzel was the inventor and first manufacturer of the metronome. This is a great piece with metal "Metronome de Maelzel" label on front. Tight-grained wood with natural patina and crackle in the varnish. The metronome can be opened from the bottom, exposing the inner-workings of these old devices. Works very well, however the bell weight tends to fall and may need to be tighten...ed. The perfect gift for any serious musician and collector.
Measures 8 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" wide at the base.
