Up for bid today is a Vintage Taylor’s Patent October 23, 1860 crankdoorbell Chrome or Brass bell Cast Iron Base, with original handle andPorcelain knob.The crank does have a crack an has been painted gold (not by me!) butit still nice and sturdy and fits great in the bell and turns the mechanism tomake the nice loud ring. The base is 5”in diameter and with the bell is about 2” deep. After we polished up the bell to show the great condition it is in itcame out an amazi...ng silver/chrome color. The base, which is cast iron, does have some very old paint around theedged rim which his reeded like the edge of a coin, but can cleaned up nicely. Even the 2 small mounting bosses are reeded tocomplete the look. I have tried to take as many pictures of the entire piece, so pleaselook carefully for a more detailed condition description.
