"William Hair Haseler LIBERTY & Co Art-Nouveau Solid Silver & Enamel Pair of Napkin Rings" Very Rare
They are both fully English hallmarked for Birmingham 1904 and the makers mark is "W.H.H" for William Hair Haseler. In 1901 as W H Haseler Ltd with W H Haseler and his sons William Rabone and Frank were the first directors of Liberty's range of jewellery and silver sold under the trade name of 'Cymric' which was launched in 1899. It was manufactured in association with W.H. H...aseler of Birmingham, manufacturing jewellers and silversmiths; a subsidiary company known as Liberty & Co. (Cymric) Ltd was registered in May 1901, directed by William Hair Haseler and Frank Haseler, with J.H. Howe and John Llewellyn of Liberty's.
The napkin rings are decorated with three embossed roundels which are finished with an enamelled Art-Nouveau design. They are in good condition with no chips to the beautiful enamel decoration, however there are a few minor dents to the silver commensurate with their age and use. They are superbly presented in a lovely antique fitted box which is marked on the inside of the lid "Co-Operative Wholesale Society Ltd Manchester".
Each napkin ring measures 37mm wide x 49mm in diameter and the enamelled section measures 20mm in diameter. They have a combined weight of a heavy 72.1 grams. A superb quality pair of early Liberty & Co silver and enamelled napkin rings which are sure to make a strong addition to any decent collection.
