RARE Antique Victorian Black Americana Frozen Charlotte in Real Peanut Shells.Very unusual item! It consists of a piece of thick paper at the top measuring 2 3/4" x 4.5". The paper is very fragile and ripped in a couple places. Upon the paper is written "I know something I won't tell" by hand. I was told the rest of the rhyme was "3 little babies in a peanut shell".The three tiny (about 1") dolls are black with white painted eyes, red painted lips and short hair. The left hand of the m...iddle one has broken off at some point, but it not is all that evident when looking at it. (See photos) Golden ribbons are glued to the back of each real peanut shell, and each doll also had thread around the neck secured to the ribbons. The shells appear to have some sort of thin liquid seal on each.The ribbons are longer in length from left to right. The ribbons above the dolls have been secured with scotch tape (ugh!) a long time ago and the bow is attached with a pin. They all come thru the card to meet at the top in a hand-tied bow.The whole thing is attached to a piece of old file folder. (The piece is much older than the file.)I have not cleaned this item as is my policy, in order not to risk damage.
