A large three section George 111 military campaign writing slope which I believe dates about 1800-1810. Lock stamped J. Bramah Patent. So it is no later than 1813 when it became Bramah and Sons.. Joseph Bramah died in 1814. Thus it would have been made at the time of the Napoleonic Wars.I am not an expert but I think that it is teak or mahogany with rosewood interior. It does need some restoration, (see codition description) but a campaign writing slope would do after 200+ ...years.It is basically sound and solid and worth the effort..The lid lifts to a flat surface and in turn this opens to a velvet lined slope. Each of these sloping sections lifts to acess storage areas. There is a drawer in the side which locks with a pin (now absent). It is 18" wide, 10.5" deep and 7" high.when closed.
