Antique Chinese Black & Blue Silk Embroidered Wedge Platform Pedestal Boat Shape Shoes
This pair of antique Chinese black and blue silk embroidered wedge platform pedestal boat shape shoes date from the 1920s. They are made of a light blue silk fabric with contrasting black silk raised padded satin stitch hand embroidery work of flowers, leaves, butterflies along the sides, black silk trim edging around the tops and padded bumpers on the front toes. ...These unusual women's Manchu pedestal boat shape slip-on style slipper shoes have a white waterproof fabric covered high platform wedge, quilted stitched fabric bottom sole and are fully lined in linen fabric inside. There are inked stamped inside with Chinese characters (see close-ups). The shoes measure 9 inches long, 2 inches wide, with a 1 inch high wedge heel. They are in excellent condition and appear to have never been worn. These are truly a rare and wonderful piece of antique Chinese shoe art!
