For sale is my lovely vintage Omega Speedmaster 105.012-66 CB case. This is a really nice one, and it pangs me to see it go... It isn't a perfect pristine example, but one which has been worn and has all the mellow charm of a 50 year old watch. As I'm sure you are aware, it was the 105.012 reference that has been verified as being worn on the Apollo 11 moon landing, and in this the 50th year, makes an excellent watch to buy to wear, or keep as an investmen...t. The dial is the correct DON bezel, faded to a beautiful grey, almost purple colour. The watch has as far as I can tell, the original pushers, crown, plexiglass, and hands. The case is in good condition, and it doesn't appear to have been polished, or if it has, then very lightly. The "lug facet" lines unique to this case are still visible - see photos 4 and 5. The dial has faded a little to dark greay almost brown (see the last photo for comparison to my later Speedmaster - the one on the right is this one being sold). The lume glows a little under light and then fades, with the exception of the tip of the chronograph hand, which glows longer and so I assume was relumed more recently. Please also note: the letter "T on the right hand of T Swiss Made T at the foot of the dial is missing a small bit of lume, and the dial indices tips are also missing lume, caused I believe by the lume shrinking over the years. Also there is a minor ding on the top of the bezel, only noticeable when viewed head on (see photo 5). The movement is clean and runs well.
It comes with a box, and on a nice new classy saffiano leather strap, I will also include a plain black leather one. It also comes with an Extract of the Archives, Omega's record of watches produced. It shows this was produced in August 1967 and originally sold in Italy. It will be sent in a nice wooden presentation box, and I believe I have the original box somewhere which I will include if I can find it.
It is keeping good time, winds smoothly, and all functions and buttons work as they should, and the previous owner had it serviced about 5 years ago, so I would recommend you consider a service in the next few years. In line with all vintage watches, there is no guarantee that it is waterproof, and I suggest you have it pressure tested if you want to confirm - although as a vintage watch I recommend not going into water with it.
