This is a RARE Antique H. E. Boucher Wooden Steam Yacht Power Boat...Many of you know Boucher is well known for his toy live steam engine powered boats , This is an early example of models of a sleek circa 1905-1920’s Powered Yacht / Boat..The model measures 36” Long 9” wide with a Depth of 6.5”. Very well made with Red, Blue and Yellow painted ...hull, with its name “Esther Marie” “Wash D.C.” on Stern. The engine has the brass tag marked “Boucher Inc. Made by the H. E. Boucher Mfg. Co. 415 Madison Ave New York “. The steam boiler also is stamped with H.E. Boucher Mfg. Co. The engine mechanisms although untested does move freely as well as the brass propeller. Background Info:In 1905, Mr. Horace E. Boucher, a French naval architect employed by the United States Navy, made the observation that scale models, although in common use throughout Europe, were practically unknown in the United States.
