Offered in this sale is a Wedgwood black basalt bisque jasperware figure of a JOSIAH WEDGWOOD holding and example of his famous Portland Vase that was made in a limited edition of 2000 pieces. This piece comes from a local private estate collection of over ...forty piece of Wedgwood that I will be posting for sale individually and in group lots over the coming days. The figurine offered in this sale measures roughly 8 3/4" tall x 3 1/2" in diameter across the base. The front side of the base edge is printed with gold gilt JOSIAH WEDGWOOD FRS 1730 - 1795. It also has a printed gold number 141210 on the base edge on the back which I believe may represent that this one is #1210 of 2000. The condition is mint. There are no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or restoration. Please note that this does not come with its original box.
