COLLECTOR PREFERRED CLEAN AND RUNNING CONDITION ROCKFORD TWO-TONE 18 SIZE 15 JEWEL MODEL 8 ADJUSTED GRADE 84 LEVER SET HUNTER STYLE FANCY DRESS MOVEMENT!Serial Number: 379504. Circa: 1891.THANK YOU for considering our collector favorite two-tone style, clean and running condition Rockford 18 size, hunting design, 15 jewels, adjusted, Model 8, Grade 84, raised and cupped gold jewel settings, gold mean balance screws, full two-tone nickel plate, stem wind, lever set fancy dress movement.... This highly collectible Rockford Model 8 2-tone is in good working order, with a dead flat and true balance wheel motion that has a constricted arc and sluggish beat. It needs to be cleaned, oiled and adjusted to run its best. The movement is a smooth wind, starts right up with a twist, and lever sets as designed. The movement holds time but is just in and has not been further regulated or adjusted. Appearance-wise this fine old Rockford is looking great, with sparkling bright and clean full two-tone nickel plates with vivid and near-complete gold flashing over the "leaf" damascene patterns and all of the excellent original black inlaid engraving paint intact, clean and correct early "free" regulator needle and index, reasonably clean looking down inside, around the sides and in front, and running true but needing a bath!! The movement does show very minor and ordinary wear with no signs of abuse! It will be a great acquisition for the lucky top bidder!
