Description W ADAMS & SON ENGLAND FLOW BLUE TONQUIN PANELED 9 1/4" LUNCHEON PLATE 1845-1880 This, at least 140 year old plate, is in Excellent Condition with No Chips No Cracks No Crazing. NOTE: there are light scratches you can sometimes notice when the light reflects off of them. Very Nice Adams & Son Luncheon Plate. This features the 'Tonquin' pattern done by using the flow blue porcelain technique. There are stylized flowers alternating with scenes around the border. The center design is of many houses and a tall temple linked by a bridge. On the underside are four floral swags and the mark used by Adams & Son for this pattern between 1845 to 1880.
This plate can be found in book 'Flow Blue China, An Aid to Identification" by Petra Williams, on page 54.
This measures 9 1/4" Wide rim to rim. I have provided a lot of pictures to best describe the condition of this flow blue luncheon plate.
