This final generation reference 116520 features a crisp black APH gap dial, blue "Chromalight" luminous hands and hour markers, randomised engraved serial number and credit card style guarantee. This example is from the final years of production and is the last iteration before the much lauded ceramic bezel gained universal popularity and the classical steel bezel faded from the catalogs. It has a 40mm steel case, crown, pushers and tachymeter bezel. Fitted on steel oyster bracelet wit...h fold over clasp. Powered by Rolex’s automatic calibre 4130. Sold with a Rolex box, warranty card, instruction manual and COSC hang tag. Initially sold in India in September 2014.The stainless steel Daytona reference 116520 has coined the nickname “APH dial “due to a gap in the word COSMOGR APH – and is now deemed very collectable, with a limited number produced over just a few years. This dial variant should continue to appreciate over time.Founded in 1905 England by Hans Wilsdorf and Alfred Davis as Wilsdorf & Davis, it soon became known as the Rolex Watch Company in 1915, moving its headquarters to Geneva in 1919. Like no other company, the success of the wristwatch can be attributed to many of Rolex's innovations that made them one of the most respected and well-known of all luxury brands.
