A rare antique from Cordova Shops, Buffalo New York: a signed antique letter holder, looks as if it's metal covered in leather, with a wonderful tooled leather stylized rose and leaves design that looks transitional, between Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts. The words "Cordova Shops Buffalo" are pressed into the green suede base - please see photos.
The Cordova Shops were part of the Elbert Hubbard's Roycroft Community and were operated by Frederick Kranz
...Apple-interchange-newline">This letter holder is good-sized, 7.5" wide, about 4.5" high, and just over 3" deep. It is in good antique condition, with some darkening at base of back and a little flaking of the leather inside (please see photos).
