1939 Vintage Longines 13ZN Chronograph 18K Gold
Item History & Price
If there are some "mandatory" watches in a collection a 13ZN is definitely one of them.Every watch collector should at least own one at some point.Still today the 13ZN movement is considered a masterpiece and one can easily see why. This is a fantastic example of a vintage classic chronograph, arguably a very good one. 34mm solid 18K gold, beautiful gold color dial untouched, filled with details typical of a high end piece.According to the information provided by the Longines archi...ve: "Originally, the serial number 5'802'149 identifies a wrist-chronograph in 18ct gold bearing the reference 3504. It is fitted with a mechanical manually wound movement, caliber 13ZN and was invoiced on 30 November 1939 to the company Wirth, which was at that time our agent for Switzerland."Curiously this is one of the few pieces that doesn't have a flyback function, although the complete mechanism for it being present on the movement. This is a particularity known to collectors, although the reason for it remains a mystery. The only known similarities is that these "non" flyback movements were issued to the Swiss market, like this one. This example is in fantastic conditions, movement is super clean and working well, case, dial and hands are all original.
