This is a really odd old book from a tragic poet. His life was cut dramatically short during an illness as he served in the military far from home. There is also an inscription in the book from Union hospital in Baltimore. Leads me to believe this book was maybe... read by more than a few people who may have passed on and felt some attachment to it’s words in their final time. Holding the book you just kind of get a creepy vibe from it.
I generally don’t do specific object readings on books with a spirit board, but waving a pendulum over this book did produce results. It definitely has some sort of spiritual charge to it, more than your average old book. It’s a wonderful copy and I have enjoyed reading the poems inside, which are excellent.
It also has a picture inside of the author, I don’t know if this came with the book or not, but it is detached and has a piece of acid free paper attached, it may have just been in the back of the book originally not sure. Also not sure if this one came with a dust jacket at one point. Seen them with dust jackets but not sure if that’s a different year. This one says it is from 1915, that is the most recent date I can find. I hope this is going to a good home, I really enjoy and treasure this book, but it is time to move some of these charged items around to new homes and new experiences.
